Position: Therapeutic Senior Companion

Location: Lafayette, California

Pay:  Negotiable 

Hours:  Full-time 40+ hours a week.  The position will be for at least 3 months and will likely extend to a more permanent role. 

Family Details:  The family resides in Hong Kong full-time but the mother's mother lives in Lafayette, California.  The senior recently had a stroke and was in a coma for a few weeks.  She is transitioning from full-time hospital care to home care with live-in assistance.  The senior has lost some brain functionality, so part of the role of the Therapeutic Senior Companion will be to assist in the rehabilitation of the senior's basic life functioning. 

Duties:  The family has hired someone to come into the home and cook and clean.  The role of the Therapeutic Senior Companion is to assist in providing rehabilitation to improve function so that the senior can become as independent as possible. This must be accomplished in a way that preserves dignity and motivates the senior to relearn basic skills that the stroke may have taken away - skills like eating, dressing and walking.

Companion Requirements:  The Therapeutic Senior Companion must be skilled in providing post-stroke therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation.  An educational background in occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, or some other therapeutically related discipline is highly desired.

Position:  Full-time Nanny (POSITION FILLED)

Location: Los Angeles, California

Hours: TEMPORARY POSITION - 3 MONTHS WITH POSSIBILITY OF LONG TERM COMMITMENT
Flexible Hours (2:30 pm - 7:00 pm M - Fr)
Every other weekend - Saturday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm), Sunday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)
Nanny will flex out weekday hours when working weekends

Details:  Loving family is in Los Angeles attending a 3 month intensive program for their child at UCLA's Early Childhood Partial Hospitalization Program.  The child is 2 1/2 years old and has been diagnosed with Autism.  The family needs a Nanny for afternoon and evening hours to assist the mother in caring for her child and to personally assist the mother in her daily endeavors as needed.  After the program is completed, the Nanny will have the opportunity to accompany the family back to Northern California where the family is from.  If any travel is required, the family will cover all expenses. 

Salary:  Negotiable ($12 - $20 per hour) 

Nanny Requirements The candidate must have experience caring for a child with autism and ideally have a background in education, social work, psychology, or related field. The candidate must be skilled in educating and interacting with autistic children as well as have experience managing busy schedules and daily routine tasks. It is important to the parents that the candidate be a positive role model in the child's life and that the Nanny play an instrumental part in developing the child's independence by role modeling appropriate behavior, assisting with instructing the child to undertake routine tasks, and being aware of opportunities to develop the child's cognitive functioning. The perfect candidate is someone who is confident in their childcare skills, has a background in autism, and works well with the mother by anticipating the child's needs and assisting the family in household tasks relating to the child.

Position: Full-time Specialized Nanny caring for a two and a half year old child diagnosed with autism

Location: Yuba City, California

Hours: Flexible - At least 6 hours a day and can work 8 but duties would include additional tasks relating to the child's schedule. 

Salary: Negotiable and depends on experience. The family is willing to assist with relocation and lodging if necessary for the right person. Benefits will be available after 6 months of employment.

Nanny Requirements: The candidate must have experience caring for a child with autism and ideally have a background in education, social work, psychology, or related field. The candidate must be skilled in educating and interacting with autistic children as well as have experience managing busy schedules and daily routine tasks. It is important to the parents that the candidate be a positive role model in the child's life and that the Nanny play an instrumental part in developing the child's independence by role modeling appropriate behavior, assisting with instructing the child to undertake routine tasks, and being aware of opportunities to develop the child's cognitive functioning. The child is receiving ABA and occupational therapy daily so the candidate will work with the other in-home therapists to ensure consistent care. The candidate will assist with either the morning routine or bedtime depending on the scheduling. The perfect candidate is someone who is confident in their childcare skills, has a background in autism, and works well with the mother by anticipating the child's needs and assisting the family in household tasks relating to the child.
